Caring for Seniors

  • Established the Normoyle Senior Center to provide activities for seniors
  • Allocated over a million dollars to “Let’s Paint D-5” to rehabilitate homes and increased funding for homeowner rehab programs
  • Initiated the CPS Energy Customer Service Response Team providing easy and convenient access to assistance programs

 

Protecting Our Families

  • Supported the hiring of more police officers to reduce crime
  • Added $3 million in neighborhood street lighting for schools and parks
  • Spearheaded VISION ZERO, to eliminate city-wide fatalities on our streets

 

Fixing Streets, Sidewalks and Parks

  • Increased funding for neighborhood streets and sidewalks district-wide
  • Construction of new sidewalks and curbs forFrio City Road, Cupples, and Theo and Malone
  • $15 million Elmendorf Park transformation completed

 

Inspiring Youth

  • Funded the Boys & Girls Mays Family Clubhouse in Lonestar/Nogalitos
  • Organized Back-to-School events providing backpackswith school supplies
  • Provided scholarships for students in D5 for travel to national mock trial
 

Fighting for Better Jobs

  • Initiated and led the living wage increase for city employees
  • Supported the Westside Education Training Center to provide better workforce training opportunities
  • Proudly promotes entrepreneurship and small business development
